According to multiple Disney news sources, Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway, the first ever Disney attraction featuring Mickey Mouse, currently being built to replace The Great Movie Ride at Disney’s Hollywood Studios will now also be coming to the Disneyland Resort sometime after the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge (Summer 2019) at Disneyland Park.
The D23 Destination D event scheduled for November 16-18 at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, is where the “official” announcement of this new addition to Disneyland Park is expected to be made.
The expected location of Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway railway at the Disneyland Park is directly behind the Mickey’s Toontown area in a backstage area currently used for Cast Members and a Firework’s launch location. The Gag Factory Shop is currently rumored to be the only location inside the current Mickey’s Toontown that would be demolished to make way for the entrance to this new attraction.
